Chelsea Football Club - Money Talks in Football
Chelsea football club are one of the top sides of the English Premier League. They are the play thing of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich and in recent times his money has brought the club success. They are a London team that is based at the Stamford Bridge football stadium. They are currently managed by Brazilian Luiz Felipe Scolari.
Owner Roman Abramovich is someone that wants the best in everything he does and so since his arrival at Stamford Bridge if you don't perform you are out! The most successful times in the history of Chelsea FC came under the reign of Jose Maurinho who stayed with the club for a 2-3 year period. He claimed 2 domestic titles for the club in successive seasons and made 2 Champions League semi finals. Unfortunately disagreements between Maurinho and Abramovich lead to his departure.
Abramovich purchased Chelsea back in 2003 in a deal worth £140 million. The club had debts of around £80 million which Abramovich was to write off once the deal had gone through. At the time Chelsea were one of the better sides in English football but were still a fair way off the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool. Abramovich appointed manager Jose Maurinho who was the current Champions League champion with FC Porto and together they planned to make Chelsea into something special.
Abramovich wanted up and coming players, not superstars and it was this idea that lead Chelsea to success. Along with the takeover Abramovich purchased Juan Sebastian Veron from Manchester United for £15 million, Claude Makelele from Real Madrid for £14 million, Damien Duff from Blackburn Rovers for £17 million and Joe Cole and Glen Johnson from West Ham for £6.6 million and £6 million. That is a shopping bill of around £110 million.
But the plan worked. In the first season under new control Chelsea dominated the English Premier League and went on to take two straight domestic titles and did it in style. They have been a footballing superpower ever since. The UEFA Champions League title is now the prize that Abramovich lusts after. It is the one title that eludes him and he will do everything in his power get this.

Chelsea FC - So Near, So Far gold
Chelsea FC - So Near, So Far gold
Five of the Champions League semifinals in the last six years. As Chelsea, this is the new director, Carlo Ancelotti, said in her first interview, which is a wonderful implementation. However, it is apparently not quite good enough. The fact that these five have a miserable semifinal appearance should be a source of incredible frustration for billionaire owner of Chelsea, Roman Abramovich, the club and fans - even if some of them might.
The reason that long-standing Chelsea fans perhaps a little philosophical about "only" reached the finals in five attempts is that many of them are probably even more difficult to become accustomed to a challenge for all the honor. Until 1997, when Chelsea won the FA Cup, the club won nothing, for 26 years - unless the admission of the former second title. Chelsea's wealth in the 1980s, after the takeover by Ken Bates for the sum of £ 1, fell, as they are in the vicinity of English football the third level.
But what he found in the last decade of the century. Even before the arrival of Abramovich in 2003, restoration began. The operators of the genealogy of Glenn Hoddle, Ruud Gullit, Gianluca Vialli and Claudio Ranieri all helped the club to one of the leading ensembles in England and the FA Cup win was in 1997 and 2000 and the UEFA Cup Cup winner 1998. Chelsea have been ground time of circuit breakers in many ways - from their continent and their managers overseas players in particular - as the first club, the area with a team without a single player from the United Kingdom or Ireland in a template against Southampton the 1999th
And if the Russian oil magnate, in the Champions League winner José Mourinho support the team in 2004, almost everyone believes that "special", a task force.
And it has emerged. The Premier League to win, so the FA Cup once and the League Cup (twice). March 2004, the team has a new record to start 86 games in which they remained unbeaten in their area of Stamford Bridge.
With some of the best players from England - John Terry, Frank Lampard, Ashley and Joe Cole - and with a little tension imports - Didier Drogba, Michael Essien, Michael Ballack and Nicolas Anelka - and the world has been waiting for Saturday trophies on. And especially for the "Holy Grail" Abramovich wants so that UEFA Champions League.
And yet, in the last two seasons, Chelsea have flattered to deceive - and their followers as frustrated. There are occasions where they are so powerful that it also has the strongest opponent, almost intimidating because of their physical and mental template superiority. But it seems, has a serious flaw in the club of make-up, no longer with them this last breakthrough.
Some have said that there are some players from overseas are not sufficiently engaged, but they have their passion and commitment after the loss of the controversy in Barcelona in 2009, these players have been criticized for the lack of sportsmanship.
Some leaders accused each other they are not in a position to the "big" players - as if there was never a problem for someone like Luiz Felipe Scolari.
Some have even blamed Abramovich or losing patience with Mourinho too early in the year 2007 seems a part of his enthusiasm for the club a long time.
But now, not been successful from the admirable Guus Hiddink to stay with the club after the rejuvenation of the team in his short stay in, Chelsea has someone with the Champions League trophy twice as a player and two as a manager. While Stamford Bridge - a marvel of air pollution in your football field in comparison to other more "soul-less" to the stadiums - are in a position to something that the most optimistic fans would have thought possible twenty years ago, a team can win the Champions League.
When Carlo Ancelotti can not be the trophy, on earth, where, after the next step?

finals of the FA between Everton and Chelsea
An epic season reached its climax on Saturday
A national epic season reached its climax on Saturday with the finals of the FA between Everton and Chelsea. The buyers of Chelsea index for the propagation of a priori from the start of the tournament will be pleased that the spread from the outset to 89-91 points (100 points for the winner, 70 points for the runner-up), and love to Hiddink rewarded them with a victory on his part, the Blues on the season. Chelsea with a game spread index 16-17.5 points (25 points won the game, 10 points for the pressure) and Everton is just 6-7.5 points, the players are on the left no doubt in the team, which is the darling of the game. Buyer for Everton's victory spread index will be absolutely delighted that Steven Pienaar and Phil Neville were both in the form, while the buyer of the spread like Chelsea see Frank Lampard and sat back in the team.
Buyer and seller, the U.S. spread is 0.7-0.9 for Chelsea, should remember that only two of the last ten finalists were of sanctions, although the two have been over the last four years (2005 and 2006). The same spread sellers are happy to know that Chelsea and Everton two meetings of the league this season were the two goalless, but the buyer of the need not to spread panic - the last time they met in the FA Cup for the fourth game in Stamford Bridge, the result was 4:1 for Chelsea. This spread players trying to get in the objectives of the internal market should also note, the highest game ever Show in 1953, where the Blackpool defeated Bolton 4-3.
Over the past ten finalists of the FA Cup, there were a total of 19 goals in general, with an average of 1.9 goals per game, what should be the total sales targets for the spread of weather. But perhaps, that the buyers are impressed by the fact that only two finalists did not manage a goal and the most goals in six, in this extraordinary finals three years ago when Steven Gerrard has injuries on time with West Ham 3-3 . DROGBA AND CHELSEA FC STATEMENTS
Didier Drogba has asked for this statement to be released on his behalf.
'I was very upset at what happened during the game, but having seen the pictures on TV I accept that I overreacted.
'I also fully accept that the language I used did not set a good example for those watching at home, especially children. I regret that in the heat of the moment I let out my incredible frustration and disappointment in this way, and for that I apologise.'
Chelsea Football Club has issued the following after Didier Drogba's statement:
'Chelsea welcomes Didier's statement today which was made honestly and after reflection. We are all acutely aware of the responsibilities that lie with both the club and its players towards setting a good example as role models.
'While it is clear that some of the events last night were regrettable, they occurred only because of the high emotions and frustrations which arose from the disappointment of a controversial defeat in such an important game.
'We made representations to UEFA immediately after the game and we await their comments following a review of the match officials' report.'

Overview
Chelsea will be desperate to regain the Premier League crown after finishing second to Manchester United in the last two seasons. Former manager Jose Mourinho, bankrolled by owner Roman Abromovich's millions, brought the first title to Stamford Bridge for 50 years when the Blues lifted the trophy in 2005. Chelsea became only the second team to win back-to-back Premier League titles when they clinched it a year later. Mourinho left the club by mutual consent in September 2007.
Although Chelsea reached the FA Cup final in 1994, they hardly set the world alight in their early Premier League days. Ruud Gullit became manager in 1996 and steered the Blues to an FA Cup triumph in 1997, while his successor Gianluca Vialli guided the team to victory in the League Cup and European Cup Winners' Cup in 1998.
Shortly after, he led the team to the UEFA Super Cup after a 1-0 win over Real Madrid. The FA Cup followed in 2000. Vialli was replaced by Claudio Ranieri in 2000 and he led Chelsea to another FA Cup final appearance in 2002.
Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich bought the Blues for £140m. After a trophyless season, he appointed Mourinho as new Chelsea manager and there was instant success. In 2005, Chelsea won the Barclays Premiership and League Cup, along with a Champions League semi-final appearance.
And Mourinho retained the Barclays Premiership crown the year after, equalling the club's own Premier League record of 29 wins set the previous season. They were league runners-up in 2006/07 and also claimed the FA Cup and League Cup double.
They were also runners-up in the 2007/08 campaign, but by this time Mourinho had left the club. He was replaced by Avram Grant who led the Blues to the final of the Champions League and Carling Cup.
Grant left Stamford Bridge at the end of the season and was replaced by Luiz Felipe Scolari who will be charged with bringing the title back to the club. However he was sacked in February 2009 and replaced by Guus Hiddink who agreed to take charge until the end of the campaign while continuing to coach the Russian national side.
Club Heritage
Chelsea were formed in 1905 and were elected into the Second Division of the Football League. They just missed out on silverware 10 years later with an FA Cup final defeat. The Blues had to wait for their first major trophy in 1955, when under manager Ted Drake, they won the league title. Chelsea claimed the League Cup for the first time in 1965 and were defeated in the FA Cup final two years later.
Featuring the likes of Ron 'Chopper' Harris, Ian Hutchison and Peter Osgood, Chelsea overcame Leeds to win the FA Cup in 1970. In the following season, they clinched the European Cup Winners' Cup with a replay victory over Real Madrid.
Financial problems meant the Stamford Bridge club dropped into the Second Division, and at one point they were close to falling to the Third Division.
They eventually won their place back in the top flight in 1984, but their stay only lasted four seasons. They clawed their way back to the First Division again as Second Division champions in 1989 and have remained there ever since.
